CASTAGNETO CARDUCCI AND BOLGHERI
Meeting of the participants at the agreed place and time and departure
with G.T. bus to CASTAGNETO CARDUCCI, visit of the small village
lying on the hill over which dominates the Castle of the Conti
della Gherardesca and which, together with the Church of San
Lorenzo forms the original core of the village center. In front of San
Lorenzo rises the Church of the SS. Crocifisso inside which is kept the
wood Crucifix of the 15th century. The city center developed around the
Castle according to a plan of concentric rings that give birth to a system
of roads, lanes and small squares.
Transfer to BOLGHERI along the
famous Viale dei Cipressi, in order to visit the small village very much
loved by the famous poet Giosuè Carducci that kept the ancient
architectures. The small town asserted itself as one of the most
interesting realities in the Italian wine-world (Incisa della Rocchetta,
Antinori, etc..). Possibility to buy wines at the numerous wine-shops
of the small village. Return to the starting point.

VOLTERRA AND GUARDISTALLO

Arrival in VOLTERRA for visiting
the old village and its most
important monuments. To visit:
the heart of the small town with
the Piazza dei Priori and its
monuments: Palazzo Pretorio,
Torre del Porcellino, Palazzo
Vescovile; the Boundary Wall, its
Doors ; Case Torri: Toscano, Buonparenti, Baldinotti; the Renaissance
Palaces, the "Duomo"; the Roman Amphitheatre, the Necropolis and
the Acropolis. Possibility to go shopping in handcraft Alabasterproducing
shops and to visit the laboratories.
At the end of the visit, a
pleasant excursion leads us to GUARDISTALLO, typical Tuscan village
with ancient origins, located on a hill, stop for visiting it . Return to the
starting point.

POPULONIA AND BARATTI

G.T. bus. Arrival in the Etruscan Village of
POPULONIA. Visit of the
suggestive fourteenthcentury
village with a small
but interesting museum rich in Etruscan remains (optional entrance).
Possibility to visit the Torre della Rocca belonging to the circuit of the
Coast sight towers. From here it is possible to enjoy a beautiful sight
on the Archipelago of the Tuscan Islands and on the hills of the high
Maremma.
Prosecution to BARATTI and visit of the archaeological
site with the Etruscan necropolis (optional entrance) facing the Gulf
of BARATTI. For those who don’t want to visit the Necropolis, free
time for bathing. Return to the starting point.

CASALE MARITTIMO AND MONTESCUDAIO

Arrival in CASALE
MARITTIMO and visit of the small village whose origins date
back to the second half of the 16th century, completely restructured
and brought back to the old beauty of the typical Tuscan village. It
received the Orange Flag a recognition assigned to the most important
villages as regards culture, gastronomy and environment.
Transfer to
MONTESCUDAIO, a village immersed in a luxuriant countryside characterized
by vines, olive-trees and Mediterranean bush with wonderful
view on the plain below and on the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago.
Further transfer to the wine-farm with panoramic view of the “FARMHOUSE”
and guided visit to the vineyard, explanation of the wineproduction
processes, wine-making methods, refining/labeling process
and description of the refining methods (barrique). Possibility to buy
on place. Return to the starting point.
